A lover of the terroir, true to the spirit of Margaux.
Son of Lucien Lurton, Denis grew up in the heart of the Médoc, among the vines and cellars of Brane-Cantenac, discovering vineyard work as a teenager and later as a student, particularly during harvest season.
A lawyer by training, he practiced for several years at the Bordeaux Bar, where he won the eloquence competition, before taking a three-year break in Paris to pursue theater, studying under Maurice Sarrazin, a renowned actor and director..
In 1992, he succeeded his father as head of Château Desmirail, a Third Grand Cru Classé of Margaux.
For about thirty years, he has worked both in the vineyard and on the estate’s buildings to enhance this property, whose headquarters lie along the famous D2, known as the “Route des Châteaux.”
