THE FAMILY

WINEMAKERS FOR
5 GENERATIONS

Léonce Récapet, born in 1858 in Branne, took over the family liqueur business before turning to viticulture alongside his wife, Emma Thibeaud, who came from a family of winemakers. Together, they developed several estates, including Château Bonnet.

Their only daughter, Denise, married François Lurton in 1923. From their union were born four children — André, Lucien, Dominique, and Simone — the pillars of the Lurton family branch as we know it today.

André Lurton (1924 - 2019)

He grew up at Château Bonnet, where his passion for the vine was born. Devoted throughout his life to the Bordeaux vineyard, he played a key role in the recognition of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, which he helped found in 1987. Visionary, tireless, and deeply connected to the land, he built over the decades a vast wine heritage, becoming one of the great figures of Bordeaux. He passed on his passion and high standards to his children, who continue his legacy today.
